How Martial Arts has helped me.
Konichiwa! My name is Grace. I am twelve years old and I go to GOLDEN DRAGONS MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY. I just got my second degree red belt, which is pretty close to black belt, so I’ve been doing this for a while now: about two years in fact (give or take a few months). When I started out as a white belt at GOLDEN DRAGONS I was a lot different, spiritually, mentally and physically, then I am today. The changes were very subtle and I barely noticed them, but once I thought about it I realized that I am more coordinated and graceful (not to mention more calm) then I was starting out. I also feel more secure now days considering if Guido comes after me I can knock him out even if he’s got a knife (MUUUHAHAHAHA!!!). I don’t freak out and tense up when I’m walking in a store, down the street or wherever, as much as I used to. But, and this will probably never change about me unless I go deaf and blind, I still remain alert and aware of my surroundings (or try to anyway). Being taught by Bill Loudon has only sharpened this aspect of me. My stamina and endurance have also improved under the instruction of Mr. Bill. I am grateful to Sensei Loudon and, frankly, the whole school for help, support, encouragement, and a whole lot of fun throughout my time there. Here’s to black belt!!! AND THEN I WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!
